There is an undercurrent I'm Americam Christianity that actually disdain the idea of the State having any relationship with God; I have even run I to some that view any God I'm government as violating a "commandment" that God's kingdom will not be built on Earth, but on the other hand look to the law and the executors of the law to save them from the very Godless society that they have created. In fact, many times they seem to worship the legal power of the state in general, and the police in particular more than Jesus himself. They are unwilling to fight for anythimg: would gay marriage have become the law of the land if there was a threat that Christians would occupy court houses? Would abortion be the law of the land of Christians literally dismantled abortion clinics and workers tirelessly to defend any medical school that trained abortionists? We will never know, because Americam Christians only seem to react with any meaningful negativity if anyone actually tried to do something about Evil in the name of God.
