Christendom built Western Civilization by establishing a structure of ethics and education through the Middle Ages. All society benefited...until the 'termites' entered in the 19th century and eventually changed Christendom to Churchiandom - which Gary North describes as Christian Humanism - and here we are.
Apostates are dealt with regularly by God - He did so with apostate Israel in 70 AD. The usual method is by simply destroying the powers of the evil mongers, often by war against another military power or by earthly natural events like floods, earthquakes or plagues.
Reading the Bible itself makes it quite clear - God is very jealous of His sovereignty and His dominion - and will not tolerate any usurpation of it. One can believe this or not - there either is a God or not - if not, nothing matters. It there is - EVERYTHING matters and we either are Christians or we ain't.
I've got two questions based on this great series:
1) I'm German, and over here the "support for Israel" is generated through guilt, i.e. the Holocaust. So, because of what our ancestors allegedly did to the Jews almost a century ago, we must pay money to the state of Israel (for all eternity?), and gift all sorts of our most advanced weapons to them. In this regard: Do you know of any other mechanisms within the other Western states to make their nations support Israel? The "Zionist Christian" theme won't work in France f.e. (due to the Frenchmen's godless nature).
2) Building up on the previous question: The current state of Germany (Federal Republic of Germany) is not a "real" state because it lacks a territory, a people, and a constitution. The latter is supplemented by what we call the "Grundgesetz" aka "Basic Law", as its last article specifically states that the German people are supposed to reclaim their land by proclaiming a constitution. The Allies have been very clear that we are under military occupation - basically a military prison, and everyone knew this to be the case up until 1990, but everyone seems to have forgotten this fact, although nothing has changed.
Anyway, I've been very interested in this topic for the last seven years, and I've found only one other state that is also constituted by this kind of Basic Law: The State of Israel. While I understand the specific aim of this series, I still would like to ask if you're aware that the "State of Israel" might be one big psychological operation to secure consent for acquiring the trade routes between the Mediterranean Sea and Asia? Israel could therefore be seen as one huge military base to destabilize the region in order to control that trade route that has become so important during the second half of the 20th century. This claim would further be supported by the myriad of US-bases along the coasts of the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, etc.
I think you are correct. I was a reading along these lines yesterday about how what drove the Israel lobby in 19th century Britain was on one side the Christian/Jewish Zionoist movement that wanted to re-establish the nation of Israel, and on the other side the British desire to control the region. Clearly America inherited that dual aim. As RFK Junior has said Israel is America's largest aircraft carrier.
Christian Zionists don't realize how they are largely useful idiots, while at the same time they mock lefty protestors for being the exact same thing. They are cyclically exploited to create a powerful lobby base for imperial efforts.
The irony is though, it's the focus on having that base in Israel that has largely made America's efforts to control the region to fail progressively over time. They never should have soought to control the region of course, but they may have been more successful long term if they'd focused on financially bolstering the region, like they did in Europe, rather than suppressing the region. Though, in Europe the reason they did not have to use so much force is most countries were thrashed by two world wars and warn out from that. However the Middle East had just got its national sovereignty back across the region with the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, so the Arab nations were less established and appeared easier to suppress. Both Britain and America underestimated them.
Of course America was also weakened from within, so it was destined to fail as an entire very soon anyway
Excellent piece detailing what my gut has told me for years; especially regarding PNAC.
My one point of contention would be when you say "Israel has a right to exist". Without going into a long dissertation based on Jefferson's arguments in the Declaration of Independence, I would point to the Old Testament. Specifically, 1 Samuel 8 wherein God tells Samuel that the Israelite demand for an earthly nation/state, like others, was a rejection of God Himself. In it God lists the depredations awaiting those that pursue such a path. This, coupled with Jewish rejection of Jesus Christ, has led to the cesspool that is the modern nation/state of Israel.
I simply mean that each nation/people in the world has a right to sovereignty. The nation of Israel today is not the Nation of the Old Testament, it's something else, claiming to be that nation.
They are also do not have the right to take the land of the Palestinians, though it must be stated virtually all nations have been established by conquest, including Australia and the US. So, while I think what Israel is doing is immoral, it's not necessarily unique. They are just the last of the colonial powers.
The way I read 1 Samuel 8 (and 12) is not that God did not want Israel to be a nation state, but that they were to only have him as king. And you are correct that they rejected him as king continually and now live under the curses of Deuteronomy 28.
We all reap what we sow.

Anything in between is an evil delusion!

*cynically exploited.
