I have seen this meme making the rounds and I don’t think such an experiment would have the effect that many western men, and some women, think it would have.
I've read enough history of Western women being captured by more "primitive" cultures to know that a bunch of these women would eventually become good wives, and even enjoy their new life. Modern life is not all that attractive to a lot of women. I have also heard enough women from other cultures scorn western women boss women and how they live, and who cherish their traditional lifestyle, to know that many western women just don’t realize that there are other, much more successful ways of structuring a society that many women actually appreciate.
Part of the problem women face today is their men expect them to be breadwinners and breadmakers. To work all day in the office, and then all night in the home. These women would be relieved of half their burden if they were put into a more traditional environment.
You'd be surprised by the results of such an experiment.
This post is in no way a support of Islam, obviously some aspects of Islamic culture go too far. I would be the first to admit this, it is evident to most people, really. But most western women are stressed out or on anti-depressents for a reason.
Modern life is anti-woman.
I am watching Battlestar Galactica at the moment, both the original and the remake. One of the most notable differences between these shows is how they present women, which gives us a bit of a window into our culture. Both shows have strong elements of feminism in them, of course.
The original Battlestar Galactica makes a big song and dance about making women into Viper pilots for example. They go out of their way to contrive a situation where a bunch of women need to be trained to go into combat. But the show still presents women as women. They are feminine and they are protected by the men because they are women. It's the early days of popular feminism, so femininity had not be fully subsumed into that abhorrent worldview yet.
However, the newer show does away with this completely. Rather than try to present women doing men things, the modern show, and this is one of its weakest points in my eyes, just writes every character basically as a man, and then puts women in those roles. The clearest example of this is the updated Starbuck who was made into a woman in the newer show. There is almost nothing that is feminine about this character, not her behaviour, not her demeanour, not the way she carries herself, nor the way she bucks authority. Everything about her comes across as masculine, except the way she looks, and the way she looks is greatly diminished by how masculine she is presented. You could switch out Starbuck in the newer Galactica with any male character and you would only have to make changes to the love interests to make it work. Nothing would really change. Her femininity is basically completely subsumed by feminist ideology.
This is how women are now viewed. This is the result of feminism. Women are now expected to be men in women’s bodies. This is why I have argued in previous pieces that feminism is the original transgenderism. This is really easily demonstrated, because the goal of feminism from the start was to show women could be put in any situation any man could be, and therefore, her gender was wiped away as nothing more than an anomaly of biology. The goal was to destroy all “detestable gender distinctions”, and that has in large measure been achieved in practice in society. And now women are worn out.
I think if you were to trial this experiment in the meme you would find that many women who would at first hate it would conclude that they had been set free. This should cause us to really evaluate where we have taken our culture.
Women treated as (defective) men and boys treated as (defective) girls is the fruit of feminism.
